Alaskan 2000 Spring Grizzly Bear Hunting Report

Once again, our Spring Grizzly hunts for the year 2000 were a great success. We had ten spring Grizzly hunters that harvested a total of ten Grizzlies. Our clients from all over the world enjoyed 100% success in taking the Grizzly of their choice.

Even though our spring Grizzly hunts are for ten days, most of the ten hunters this spring filled out in one to two days.

Seven of the ten Grizzlies taken this Spring will make it in the Boone and Crockett record book. Two additional Grizzlies may make it as well.

We had one bow hunter this Spring that took a 9'-4" Grizzly that had a 24 1/2" skull. This Grizzly should end up number four or five in the Pope and Young record book.

The largest Grizzly ever taken in Alaska had a 27 2/16" skull. One of our hunters this Spring took a 9'-10" Grizzly that had a skull measuring just under 27".

The following is a list of Grizzly Bears taken this Spring.

One 9'-10" Grizzly with a skull just under 27"
Two 9'-7" Grizzlies, one with a skull around or at 26"
Two 9'-4" Grizzlies, one was taken with bow - skull 24 1/2"
One 9'-3" Grizzly
One 9'-2" Grizzly
One 9'-1" Grizzly
