Kodiak Brown Bear Hunting in Alaska

Our Kodiak brown bear hunts take place in the wilderness regions of Afognak Island in South Central Alaska. Normal past hunter success has been 90-95% due to the heavy population of bears in this area.

The guide we represent has been written up in many major hunting publications because of his high success, great accommodations, and his willingness to go the extra mile for his hunters.

The terrain is composed of lowlands and areas up to 1,000 feet in elevation. There are forested and non-forested areas and many beaches. The forest canopy is cushioned with a moss floor, providing ideal hunting conditions with high success.

In the fall our hunters have the option to hunt over salmon streams if they wish.

We welcome hunters with either bow or rifle.

For your personal comfort, there are three hand-hewn furnished log cabins to stay in. Nourishing family-style meals are served in the main log lodge with lots of home baked goods.

A cabin cruiser and husky sea skiffs are used to get to the hunting areas daily.

The brown bear seasons are approximately, spring April 6th to May 15th and fall October 25th to November 13th. Some years this hunt has had 100% hunter success.
