Alaska Sitka Black Tail Deer Hunting

We offer both fully guided and self-guided Sitka Black Tail Deer Hunts that take place in the wilderness regions of Afognak Island in South Central Alaska.

The terrain is composed of lowlands and areas up to 1,000 feet in elevation. There are forested and non-forested areas as well as many beaches. The forest canopy is cushioned with a moss floor, providing ideal hunting conditions with high success.

This area offers a limit of four deer per hunter. Past hunter success has been near 100%. Typical bucks range from 120 to 220 pounds. Normal antler development is 3-4 points per side.

We welcome bow, rifle and muzzleloader hunters on this great deer hunt.

For your personal comfort, there are three hand-hewn furnished log cabins to stay in. Nourishing family-style meals are served in the main log lodge with lots of home baked goods.

A cabin cruiser and husky sea skiffs are used to get you to the hunting areas daily. Overall success is excellent due to the high population of deer on the island.

The scenery and wildlife in this area is awesome. Some fishing is available at certain times of the year. Duck hunting is available and we offer a wide variety of different species.

The deer season runs from about August 1^st to December 31^st however the rut takes place in November and December.

Our Sitka Deer Hunting package rates:
6-day fully guided Sitka deer hunt = $4,200 per person USD

6-day self-guided Sitka deer hunt = $2,100 per person USD

You can add hunting days at a rate of $700 (guided) or $350 (self-guided) per day.

We welcome spouses and other non-hunting family members as the lodge and cabins are very comfortable.

The cost for a non-hunter is $250 per day

Additional charges on our deer hunts are:

• General hunting license $85 and each deer tag runs $150
• Travel expenses from your hometown to Afognak Island and return
• Hunters from other countries have higher license and tag fees
