You and your hunting partners will be flown to an extremely remote wilderness river where there are many unknowns.
This hunt is not for the weak in mind, body or soul. Portages are very much a reality as well as dangerous sweepers, log jambs and more!
The Alaskan Bull moose not only has the largest antlers in North America but it also has the largest body. On this hunt you can also hunt for black bear, wolf & wolverine.
Camping on a moose float hunt
Many Boone & Crockett and Pope & Young record book animals are taken each year in Alaska.
This self-guided float hunt takes place about 300 miles west of Anchorage, Alaska. All Bull Moose taken must have an antler spread of 50" or more, or have at least four brow tines on one side.
Over the years many bull moose have been taken in this general hunting area with racks from 50" to 70" or more. Racks from 65" to 70" or more are very possible.
Alaskan Arctic CharThese hunts take place from September 5th to September 20th.
You and your group will be able to float 40-50 miles or more of prime moose hunting territory. This hunt takes place in unit 19B.
We supply suggested equipment, clothing, tackle and food lists for this hunt. Hunters must be in very good to excellent shape both physically and mentally for this extremely tough & remote fly-in moose & big game float hunting trip.

Are there Salmon in Alaska?On this fantastic extremely remote hunting adventure you will also be able to fish for silver salmon, Dolly Varden, char and grayling. There is a large population of black bear and wolves in this hunting area as well.

The cost of non-resident licenses and tags are extra and are as follows:
General hunting license $85, moose tag $400, black bear tags $225 each, wolf tags $30 each or no charge, wolverine tag $175 & a fishing license runs about $35 to $60. Licenses & tags for Alaska resident hunters are less.

Glassing for big gameIn 2007 some moose hunting units went to a shorter season, in 2008 & 2009 some units went to a draw or permit system, and in 2010 more than likely several other units will go to a draw or permit system, and some areas may even be closed down for non-resident moose hunting.

We urge non-resident self-guided hunters to book now for the 2010 season, if you want to hunt moose in here in Alaska!
At this point in time Alaska resident and non-resident hunters can purchase moose, black bear, wolf and wolverine tags over the counter in the areas where we offer our moose float and drop hunts.
Past hunting success has averaged between 50 to 60% on this hunt. The overall success normally varies do to the weather and the hunters hunting abilities.
