African Plains & Big Game Hunting Safaris

Dave Mason-AITW PresidentAdventures In The Wild offers a wide variety of plains, big game and photographic safaris throughout Africa.

We work directly with Morne' de Villiers who is an outstanding, dedicated, honest and sincere Professional Hunter based out of Port Elizabeth in South Africa.

Morne' and Karen de Villiers, both of them being born and raised in Africa, started their hunting and photographic safari operation in 1989.

They gained a wealth of experience when they managed one of the most unique game reserves in South Africa. Morne' & Karen worked as a team catering for the personal care and attention to provide hunters and tourists with a "Real African Experience".

Morne' offers plains & big game hunting safaris through out many African Provinces.

Accommodations

Thorndale Hunting Lodge #2On the safari you will find it is not only the wildlife that makes for a perfect experience, but superb accommodations offer you all the comforts and amenities with scrumptious meals served in homely, tranquil surroundings, and warm friendly efficient service 24 hours a day.

The accommodations consists of country style homes and game lodges with en-suite bathrooms.

Hunting Areas

Super Bowl Star-Adam VinatieriHunting concessions through out South Africa and neighboring countries allow Morne' & Karen to offer all the plains & big game species available, as well as the opportunity to visit other parts of this beautiful country.

Photographic Safaris and hiking can be arranged for observers during a hunting safari.

South Africa, a "World in One Country" offers the widest variety of animal species for the hunter. The diversity of habitat and topography combined with excellent hunting conditions makes South Africa an essential experience for any hunter.

Hunting Seasons

Hunting is conducted through out the year but Morne' & Karen recommend the months of March to October.

During this time of year the weather is agreeable, with days mild to warm and early mornings and evenings cool to cold.

Rainfall occurring during the hot summer months from November to February.

Bow Hunting

BuffaloMorne's concession areas offer excellent opportunities for the avid bow hunter.

You may either enjoy the "walk and stalk" method or hunt from elevated camouflaged blinds.

Morne' has carefully selected areas where no trophy rifle hunting takes place during the hunting season to enable our bow hunters the best possible opportunity to take excellent trophies.

We recommend taking the moon into consideration when booking your bow hunting safari.

Arms & Ammunition

We recommend 7mm and bigger for plains game and .375 and bigger for any of the Big Five.

A temporary import/export permit for rifles will be issued on arrival at the Johannesburg or Cape Town International Airports.

Photographic Safaris

South Africa offers an exciting variety of tourist attractions, i.e. The famous "Kruger National Park" including all Africa's rich game reserves, the scenic Garden and Wine Route in the Cape Province and the most beautiful beaches and mountain resorts.

Clothing

Khaki or neutral colored clothing, well worn boots, warm jacket and hat or cap. During mid winter bring thermal underwear and gloves.

Safari Reservations

A deposit fee of 50% of the total daily rate is required to confirm your safari reservation.

Trophy fees for all animals harvested or wounded and lost are payable with the balance of your daily rate at the end of your safari.

In the event of a cancellation, the deposit will be forfeited unless another Safari is booked by the client.
