Northwest Territories Fully Guided Black Bear Hunt

Trophy Black Bear Hunting in the Northwest TerritoriesWe invite you to join us on an outstanding "Fully Guided Black Bear Hunt" where high success rates are the norm and not the exception. We offer one of the finest black bear hunting adventures available in the Northwest Territories of Canada, where past hunter success has been exceeding 80%. The outfitter we use has a reputation known worldwide for outstanding service and many of his big game hunters hold records in the Boone & Crockett, Pope& Young and S.C.I. record books.

We offer "Fair Chase" or "Baited" trophy black bear hunts.

This unique and exciting hunting adventure takes place out of the town of Yellowknife. This is a six day hunt starting and ending in Yellowknife.

We take a very limited number of bear hunters each year in this huge area that offers big, bold bears that have not been hunted historically.

Many of the bears are taken after midnight as it never really gets dark during our three week hunting season.

Two Happy Hunters with Their Guide

If you are on a "Fair Chase Hunt" you will travel along the Mackenzie highway in search of your black bear as the hunt is accomplished with the use of 4x4 vehicles. We cruise the highway, cut lines, quarries and glass open areas and lakes looking for a stalking situation.

If you are on a "Baited Hunt" you will hunt over bait for your trophy black bear.

Our black bear hunts normally take place from mid-May to mid-June.

The bear in our hunting area are normally black in color with a few bears having a brown face or a white spot on their chest.

The average distance for shooting is 100 to 200 yards with some bears taken less than 100 yards away. Hunters hunting over bait will have much closer shots.

You will be able to hunt 10 to 12 hours per day or more.

Most of the bears we take measure from 6' to 7' plus in length from nose to tail. During our 2007 & 2008 bear season several bear near, at or over 7' were harvested.

This outstanding fully guided black bear hunting package includes

• Meals and cabin or travel trailer accommodations
• Two professional guides per hunter
• 4x4 trucks and fuel
• Skinning & care of your trophy
• Bait stations and all bait

The cost for this exciting fully guided black bear hunt is $3,500.00 USD per hunter

(We only take four bear hunters per week. The limit is one bear per hunter)

Additional costs

• A black bear license/tag runs $50 and the N.W.T. bear trophy fee is $100 in Canadian funds.
• The 5% GST, gratuities and expenses from your hometown to/from Yellowknife and while in Yellowknife are at your own expense.
• The hunt package starts in Yellowknife departing on Mondays and returning to Yellowknife on Saturdays.
• There is a $90 fee for trophy preparation if you take your bear hide home with you. If you have your trophy mounted by a resident taxidermist in Yellowknife and later shipped to you there are no trophy preparation fees.
