Saskatchewan Trophy Mule Deer Hunting Adventure

The Qu'Appelle Valley is one the most beautiful areas in Saskatchewan, Canada and the view from the Dancsok Ranch is quite spectacular. This 900 acre private ranch offers excellent hunting for trophy Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Rocky Mountain Elk, Roosevelt Elk, and Plains Buffalo.

In 1997, Lloyd & Lynne Dancsok along with their daughters Angelle & Tennille, founded Qu'Appelle Hills Elk. The family started off like any new business, yet they had a goal in mind and were willing to do a lot of hard work to achieve that goal. It has always been a dream of the Dancsok family to be able to continue to live and work in the beautiful Qu'Appelle Valley. The Dancsok family is 3rd and 4th generation in the valley, as their ancestors helped to build many great landmarks that still stand today. Lloyd is an avid hunter who has been hunting for over 40 years and has been teaching hunter safety courses in the nearby town of Esterhazy for over 26 years. Lloyd and his family are adventurous and have always shared a love of the outdoors, and now they have an opportunity to share that passion with you and your family or friends right from their own back yard.

The Dancsok family goal is and always has been to provide their clients with the very best hunting experience possible along with superior service and a professional attitude to make your trophy Mule Deer hunting adventure one that "You'll remember for the rest of your life".

Details about the land...

The ranch is located on the north side of the Qu'Appelle Valley just 10 miles south of the town of Esterhazy, Saskatchewan and about 130 miles east of Regina, the capital city of Saskatchewan, Canada. The property is divided into several areas with the main home headquarters at the heart of the ranch, where guests are welcomed and encouraged to stay when they make their hunting reservation. Surrounding the headquarters are various gates and raceways that lead into the pastures. The facilities were made to ensure the greatest of ease and safety when bringing in animals for scoring or transferring them to different quarters. Beyond the pastures are the Qu'Appelle Valley and the various hunt quarters. The hunt quarters can be broken into several areas. These areas vary from prairie plains to very rough, rugged terrain with cliffs, trails, hills and heavy forest, all along side natural springs in deep ravines at the bottom of the valley.

To accommodate all hunters, the Dancsok Ranch is equipped with various lookout points to make many types of hunts possible. These quarters are set up for rifle, archery or muzzle-loader hunters. Over looking the beautiful Qu'Appelle Valley is an 8'x 8' enclosed camouflaged tower with drop down windows on all four sides allowing the best vantage point in any direction. The tower is also heated for hunting in cold weather conditions. Down in the valley where the terrain is quite rough, there are permanent and portable tree stands that are actually built in the trees. Trails weave throughout the valley quarter to bring hunters to any tree stand or open area. These trails are well groomed to allow 4x4 vehicles through this rough terrain.

New to the ranch are trophy Mule Deer. The trophy bucks are very impressive scoring between 150 and 200 and there are some bucks that should score over 200 in 2007.

Other Trophy Hunting Options

There are now over 250 elk on the ranch with 150 bulls available and new calves will be arriving this spring. The herd consists of the Rocky Mountain and Roosevelt Elk. The trophy bull elk available to hunt will range in ages from 3 to 10 years weighing upwards of 1150 lbs. The bulls score anywhere from 300 to 400 normally, however, there will be some bulls scoring in the low to mid 400's in 2007. The largest bull elk harvested in 2006 scored 422 B & C.

The Dancsok Ranch also offers a great selection of Plains Buffalo. The bulls range in age from 6 to 9 and these big boys weigh between 1500 to 2400lbs! The ranch also offers trophy Whitetail Deer that score from 140 to 190 plus.

All of the animals on the ranch and that are brought onto the ranch are Tuberculosis (T.B.) tested and they have also been in a Chronic Wasting Disease (C.W.D) program for over 6 years. All of the animals are very healthy and well cared for.
